I grew up in Tucson, Arizona. I attended Carleton College, receiving a BA in Sociology and Anthropology in 1999. I lived in New York City for seven years, beginning May 2000. I graduated from Fordham Law School, cum laude, in 2007, and moved with my wife Rachel Werner to the Washington, DC area shortly thereafter. I worked as an Associate Attorney with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld for approximately 2 years.
