Rachel sitting in the living room next to a roaring fire.

The front of the cabin, with the gorgeous 8 foot redwood deck. The closer windows is the living room, the other was my bedroom.

View of the front, from Woodchuck Lane.

In the summer of 2002, there were horrendous fires in the White Mountains, which led to extremely strict new regulations about tree density in the surrounding forests. Here, you can see Forest Service land about two blocks from the cabin, where many, many trees have been removed to reduce the fire danger.

Another view of the Forest Service land with the results of the logging.

After a nice walk, Rach in the kitchen next to the waffle maker. As nice as the cabin was, and as relaxing as it was to be in the mountain air at 7,000 feet above sea level, we had to come back to Tucson...

On the drive back...
